In Counter-Trend trading the user defines the upper and lower boundaries of an expected range for future price action. Pending sell orders are placed above the midline and pending buy orders are laid out beneath. As price moves away from the midline a new order is triggered each pip along the way. As price returns to the midline the orders are closed for profit. In most setups the take profits of each trade are larger than the next pending order creating an overlapping effect on each trade that maximizes gains for a small amount of actual price movement.
The Trend trading approach assumes that price will move in one direction away from the midline and not return to the midline. In this case pending orders above the midline are buy orders and sells beneath.
Gridzilla allows the user to define exactly what type of grid trading scenario is desired. Users can chose from “Counter-Trend”, ”Trend” and “Auto” depending on the approach they are looking to trade.
